The 23rd International Convention “World of Trade”: 487 Professionals, 5,550 Negotiations and Over 100 Deals
The 23rd International Convention “World of Trade” has concluded in Almaty — the largest industry event in the region for retail chains, suppliers, manufacturers, commercial real estate developers, technology companies, and professional retail partners.
The Convention took place on 28–30 May 2026 and brought together 487 trade professionals from Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, China, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, Ukraine, France, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Tajikistan.
One of the key practical formats of the Convention was the “World of Trade Procurement Center”. The largest retail chains from eight countries — Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Belarus — took part in supplier meetings.
In total, 5,550 B2B negotiations were held during the Convention. According to preliminary participant estimates, these meetings are expected to result in approximately 100 contracts.
The business program of the 23rd International Convention “World of Trade” focused on the key challenges of modern retail development. Participants discussed the latest data on the retail market in Central Asia, shifts in consumer behavior, the development of FMCG and non-food retail, store format strategies, assortment management, technology adoption, process automation, equipment, digitalization, e-commerce, and the implementation of AI tools in retail.
Special attention was given to dialogue between retail chains, suppliers, manufacturers, and market partners. Sessions covered retailers’ requirements for suppliers, commercial terms, quality and delivery standards, the role of category management and pricing, as well as practical approaches for FMCG suppliers entering retail chains in Central Asia and Eurasia.
