On November 5 – 6, for the 14th time a congress of leading retailers from the CIS countries took place in Almaty at the World of Trade Convention.
The event was attended by top managers and heads of retail chains and distribution companies: X5 Retail Group, Komandor, Samberi (Russia); Magnum, Small, Metro, A-Store, Prima Distribution (Kazakhstan); SAS Group (Armenia); Rahat Market (Azerbaijan); Korzinka.uz, Makro (Uzbekistan); Nikora (Georgia); Frunze, Forester (Kyrgyzstan) and others.
In total, the World of Trade Convention met 98 representatives of retail companies, 78 manufacturers and suppliers of goods, retail equipment, technologies for retail and commodity production from Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.
In the B2B negotiations session, the participants held more than 300 bilateral negotiations, 30% of which are already ready to sign contracts totaling more than $1 million.
In the discussion sessions of the Convention program, representatives of business and government agreed on current market issues and outlined common goals for solving problems in the development of modern trade, both the industry as a whole and everyone’s business.
Representatives of the leading Russian retailer X5 Retail Group (retail chains Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Karusel) held a special session for manufacturers about the possibilities of working with the main player in the Russian market.
The organizers of the World of Trade Convention were: International operator of business events for the retail industry EXIM EXPO, JSC Center for the Development of Trade Policy QazTrade, National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan Atameken, Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Ukraine, Export Support Centers of the Russian Federation.
The next meeting of retail industry participants will take place in Moscow in April 2022.
